Japanese teenage girls have spoken: Tokyo Revengers is the No.1 hot topic in 2nd half of 2021
Garnering over 37.1% of votes among 1,176 respondents, the live-action movie Tokyo Revengers led the second half of Trend Ranking 2021 of popular website MyNavi Teens Lab in the "Koto" category, which pertains to any media content that became a hot topic. The survey ran from October 8 to October 27, 2021.
Tokyo Revengers is a manga by Wakui Ken serialized by Kodansha in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017. The live-action movie cast Kitamura Takumi as Hanagaki Takemichi, a 26-year old man bored of his mundane life. One day, he discovers he can go back in time and change events in his life that used to be filled with gangsters.

In October, Tokyo Revengers was officially named as the No.1 box office hit among live-action titles in 2021. It surpassed the earnings of Rurouni Kenshin: The Final and continued to do so when its screenings all over theaters in Japan were extended.
In Top 2 and 3 of the "Koto" category are Dragon Zakura live-action series and BTS' Butter respectively.
Another special mention, this time from the cast of Tokyo Revengers is Yamada Yuki who eagerly portrayed Draken in the live-action movie, to the extent that he had his hair styled accurately for hours instead of wearing a wig. He is also praised for his performance in the live-action series "Police in a Pod." He placed third in the "Hito (Person)" Division for being a hot topic in the said roles.
Prior to him in the second rank is the group of YouTubers called "Comdot," which collaborates with different celebrities regarding varous video projects and has over 2.5 million subscribers in the platform. Kansai Johnny's Jr. unit Naniwa Danshi ranks first, a 7-member boy band that has been active since 2018 but debuted only on November 12 this year. Two of its members are starring in live-action projects namely My Love Mix-up!! (Michieda Shunsuke as Aoki) and in the movie Kappei (Nishihata Daigo as Keita).
