Johnny's West member Kotaki Nozomu stars in the upcoming slice of life live-action series Rokuhodo Yotsuiro Hiyori based on the manga of the same name created by Shimizu Yu. He plays Togoku Kyosui, the owner of Rokuhodo, which is a Japanese traditional coffee shop in a quiet place in the city. It serves as a haven for customers from different walks of life and with struggles of their own. Kotaki Nozomu will be joined by three more cast members, as there will be a total of three café employees according to the manga.
While working on the manga, artist Shimizu Yu wondered about a place where people could relax and hang out at. It is a dream come true for her to see her work as a live-action series. She is also delighted that it is Kotaki who will play the protagonist, and is already looking forward to his interactions with other characters in the drama.
As he learns more about the character he is going to play, Kotaki comments that he will have a lot of fun making delicious sweets, and it would be easy to get fat if he read the manga in the middle of the night. This will be his first acting project after two years since he last acted in another live-action series, Please Do Not Attempt, Never in 2019.
Filming for the live-action series Rokuhodo Yotsuiro Hiyori will begin sometime this month. It is scheduled to air in January 2022 on TV Asahi, replacing Kieta Hatsukoi (My Love Mix-Up!) on its 23:30 slot. The theme song entitled "Dawn" will be performed by Johnny's West, where Kotaki is also a boy band member.
