Main cast of webcomic-based live-action series 'Island' confirmed

After almost a year of finalizing and confirming the cast, OCN officially reveals that Lee Da-hee, Cha Eun-woo, and Sung Joon will be joining Kim Nam-gil as the main leads of Island, the live-action adaptation of the 2016 webcomic series written by Yoon In-wan and illustrated by Yang Kyung-il. The destinies of four characters intertwine in this supernatural mystery filled with exorcisms and fights against evil: the story of the ghost hunter, the banished teacher that encounters ghosts, the exorcist, and the nemesis. Island is set to have 20 episodes, with the majority of the scenes expected to be filmed in Jeju Island.

Kim Nam-gil was offered the role of Ban back in November 2020 together with So Yea-ji as Won Mi-ho, but the latter declined. The filming for Island begins in October 2021 and will air in the first quarter of 2022.
